The Work Around was a community art initiative organized by Carissa Burkett and Zemula Barr in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and inspired by similar public art exhibitions in other cities, including WE ARE HERE / HERE WE ARE in Los Angeles and Art in Place in Chicago. While many of our local arts spaces are closed or open on a limited basis, The Work Around was offered as a way to continue fostering connectivity through art.
